Island Watersports Lanzarote is located in the old town harbour of Puerto Del Carmen ideally positioned for many of our favorite dive sites, and it is only a few metres walk to the beach entry point which makes for a nice relaxed start to your dive. We have the most modern dive centre on the Island with all the facilities a diver may need, wet room for washing down after diving, hot showers, workshop area, self contained compressor room, classroom, relaxation area, and of course a fully stocked shop for that little something forgotten. For that post dive lunch we have a fully stocked fridge and many bars and restaurants adjacent to the dive centre in the thriving harbour of the old town.
The dive centre is owned and run by Georg Reichelmann and Gertraud Riccabona , with help from instructors Frank & Dianne who are both BSAC instructors and John our PADI dive master.
Our aim is to make sure all our divers have a memorable and safe diving holiday and see all the wonderful sites that Lanzarote has to offer. We have sites to suit all levels of diver, with fantastic marine life, to the breathtaking scenery formed in this small volcanic paradise. For the more experienced diver we have some sites outside the local area which once again are absolutely breathtaking. The sea temperatures are about 23 degrees in the summer months dropping to around 17 ish in the winter with visibility regularly 25 meters or more. Wherever you dive here with us you will definitely go away with happy memories of some exceptional diving.

What Courses Do You Teach? Courses we teach range from the discover scuba right up to dive master and of course a full range of specialties, and all courses can be taught in English, German, Dutch and Spanish.
Accommodation can be arranged whether it be a small studio with views across the harbour and out over the ocean, to a villa in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of the town, and with all the budget airlines now serving Lanzarote it makes for a very affordable holiday.

My favorite dive site is?
well Fiji was spectacular but Lanzarote has it all and you never know what you are going to see, we have huge stingrays and angel sharks the odd manta gets seen but for the photographer there is so much life in amongst the rocks and in the lava tubes, so Lanzarote has to be up amongst the top.

My favorite bit of dive gear
Will never leave without my trusty compact camera, and friends back home enjoy seeing what I have been up to.

Funniest dive moment
I suppose funniest dive moment was, well one of the sites we dive is in a naturist area and after exiting the dive looked around at all the naked bodies and thought what the hell so me and my buddy stripped off, bcd back on and went back in only for 10 mins it was hilarious and the water was very cold!!!!!

I personally know both Trudy & Gorge who run Island Watersports and can confirm that they are a first rate operation. Great dive school right in the heart of the old town harbour. If you are looking for a school to use as a base in Puerto del Carmen then look no further.
